Paul Tallentyre

Since joining Davis Coffer Lyons in 2005, Paul has developed a dedicated Pubs and Bars team, which has rapidly become one of the market leaders within the industry. Paul has been a specialist in the licensed sector for the past 16 years. He has also benefited from knowledge from the retail and hotel industries, having previously worked for a nationwide leisure practice, specialising in advising both corporate, multiple operators and private individuals on acquisitions and disposal within the licensed sector.

Paul also has substantial knowledge within the M&A group strategy disposals/acquisitions.

Widely recognised as an expert within the pubs sector, Paul’s talent for spotting trends and conditions affecting operators and landlords is reflected by his impressive client list. Along with corporate transactions, Paul and the team have acted for single and multiple operators on a substantial amount of private and individual deals throughout the UK.

Over the last 12 months he has advised and acted on a number of high profile deals in excess of £500 million. Some noticeable and recent transactions include:

  • Disposal of 2 freehold public houses on behalf of Young’s.
  • Advising on Bruce Bar Holdings portfolio in excess of £25 million.
  • The acquisition within the licenced sector of Keston Lodge on behalf of 580 Group for £3.15 million
  • Sale of the Phene Arms for £4.25 million to City Pub Co.
  • The Acquisition of the Swan public House in Farnborough for £1.85 million for Tag Farnborough Enterprises.
  • The assistance of the expansion of Draft House acquiring their 3 sites
  • Instructions to acquire new sites for Stonegate for the Slug & Lettuce concept
  • The sale of Sabretooth Business for £3 million, which includes the Lighthouse in Battersea and the Roundhouse in Clapham.
  • The acquisition of 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf for Ed and Tom Martin
  • Advising and disposal work for Enterprise Inns.
  • Disposal of Church Street Town house in Stratford-upon-Avon to City Pubs for £2.75 million.
  • Disposal of the Haverstock on Haverstock Hill public house for £2 million to a private investor/developer.
  • Many acquisitions of freehold public houses for investors/developers.
